Best place to buy gold/silver in Melbourne?

Hello gents!

I have an hour in Melbourne tomorrow and I want to pick up 2oz of Gold and 2kg of sliver, I would like to pay cash and stay anonymous. So a few questions if I may:

- Where is a good place to buy in Melbourne?
- How long does it take to purchase PMs? (might be an odd question but I havent done it before)
- What would be the best 1kg silver bars to purchase?
- What would be the best 1oz gold bars to purchase?

I am looking to build up a small stack for hedging purposes only. I am a buy/hold kind of guy.

What are the go with the certicards? they seem like they would get annoying from a storage point of view. Should these be kept or are they safe to discard?

That is my plan good sir. So you keep the gold bars in the certicards?

If you buy a certicard, my advice is to keep it in the certicard - it provides the buyer some assurance that it's the genuine thing rather than a gold plated fake from China. Any prospective buyer would be suspicious if offered a 'naked' gold bar that's normally sold in a certicard.

Reading up on these gold bars, Im a bit worried around fakes even with the certicards.

If I switch to gold coins does anyone have suggestions for size and type? id be willing to have a little bit more speculation on these but still using mostly for hedging.

I understand that but in terms of reselling in the future, if fakes are getting better and better I think buyers will be more reluctant to buy from private sellers.
