Hello!

When it comes to picking coin capsules, which are "the best"?

Does anybody buy capsules from European companies (Leuchtturm or something :) )?

Thanks!

Thank you both for the info. :) All mentioned capsules are without PVC or any other chemicals that can damage (silver) coins?

Thanks!

I think you can google "Wizard Coin Supply" to check out the lighthouse ones.

They're not as easy to open apparently once you encapsulate your coins.

Best and most good looking I find the Quadrum capsules from Leuchtturm. Coins, especially old crown sized ones, look beautiful in them!

Yeah they are a nightmare to open. I got light house caps and you could spend a good 5 mins getting into them. lol

I could be wrong but leuchturm is lighthouse.

I used capsules from both airtite and lighthouse. Both are hardy and of quality material. Though generally I like the airtites better for its shape.

Thank you all for info. :) I think that in our country they are mostly selling Leuchtturm/Lighthouse. Probably because the company is based in EU and you don't need to pay any VAT when importing.

Will order some airtite capsule to see the difference. :)

Some Leuctturm capsules I've bought have some "cheap" feeling. :)

Have both and the Leuchtturm/Lighthouse are brittle and shatter very easily from a height of less than 3 feet. Guess that is why I can buy 10 for >3.50 CAD where as the Airtites run ~5.00/5.50 USD for 10.

I'm not a fan of the Foam rings. For 2oz Libertads I use the Lighthouse capsules because they fit it almost perfectly.

In general though, I think the capsules that the mints use are the best. I asked Maggie for a replacement PM capsule for a Koala and the one she sent me was better quality than any air-tite or Lighthouse capsule I've ever seen.
