Saw this on Perth Mint website the other day

Australia's Remarkable Reptiles 2013 1oz Silver Proof Coin

then saw yesterday that it's being advertised as "a new silver coin series from Downies - the makers of the Deadly & Dangerous series"

I'm intrigued. Could have potential :)

Anyone know anything more about this?
 
I wonder what will be remarkable about them.

I just googled them and this page was the top hit so I guess it is early days.

If it is a coloured picture stuck on a coin I would give it a miss unless you like gambling that it might be the key coin in the series worth a fortune.
 
Sounds similar to the endangered and extinct coins they did. The Wedge-tailed eagle is still going for a bit on ebay.
 
Some of the coins in these series' haven't been as "strong" as others, but I'm a collector rather than a flipper and have been collecting the D&D and E&E series' from the start so I'm locked in by my obsession haha

Figured if someone knew about this R&R series it would be here :)
 
Lol.. i bet they are like $104 each.. how exciting! I love reptiles so ill watch a wildlife doco.. then stack silver bullion

Or buy some reptile stickers and put them on my bars.. worth heaps now bro

If you're talking about PobJoy, Helvetica, even CIT to a large extent, the quality produced by Downies/PM easily surpasses them.

If you're talking about the Austrian Mint then you're right, but then NO ONE is up to the quality of the Austrian Mint :)
 
I really liked these deadly & dangerous series from the Perth Mint Australia. My favorite ones are the Yellow-Bellied Sea Snake and the Great White Shark.

Well there you have it, turns out it's a Frilled Neck Lizard, not a bad design at all IMO. Will be interesting to see how it goes, first coins in new series' always get me a little excited :D
 
Coin is already on ebay in auction. I think that coin will perform very good. Nice design and first of series :)

Noticed there's no restriction on how many you can order... which is weird considering all of their D&D releases are always limited to 1 per person. Interesting.
 
It should be less that $107 with the recent drop in spot. Too much of a gamble with the curent prices.
