Someone just handed me a big bag (several kilos) of old Aussie pennies and half pennies and asked me if they are worth something. Barring there being a 1930 penny in there. Does anyone want to punt at what they might be worth?


Most are in good (but circulated) condition ... and there are whole collections of consecutive years in there
 
There a heap of early pennies in there in good condition. Will check on those years.

If there is anyone interested here in knowing more with view to purchase I can get a full list and probably photos.
 
$20 - $50Kg Condition and years depending.

Older good condition coins always hold some value, however trying to sell at a good price can be difficult unless you have a cracker of a coin. If you do well done.Otherwise you don't know how many times they have been picked through and so forth.

A few photos would help a lot.

well I feel like a dick all of a sudden, gave 1 away the other day because I had a few of them

The Dansco album like the one shown in the above YouTube vid is a good start, if you're looking to complete a set.

A more substantial list of varieties can be found here: http://www.triton.vg/pennies.html, which has some varieties which the Dansco album left out.
