Australian Map Shaped Coin Series Kookaburra 2012 1oz Silver Coin

Silly question, but how do you know how many are left in stock?

I've looked around the page and can't find anything like a counter.

Perth Mint released a video on this coin. Check it out.

i thought it does not have capsule until i saw the vedio. I bet the irregular capsule is more expensive than the round one. Lol...

Went on perth mint around 9:30 this morning it said they where unavaliable and was pretty dissapointed. And then around 11:00 they came back up for sale and snapped 2 of them was very lucky to get them as 5minutes later they went unavaliable again.

Looks a nice coin but at $112 a throw when spot is circa $28 I cant see the value when sooooo many Perth Mint proofs have failed to attract a premium above their issue price with a couple of exceptions (Redback and Tasmanian Tiger).

Yeah I could be totally wrong But I am guessing this like most of the colored perth mint crap these days will be unavailable then the hype then the over inflated prices on ebay and everywhere else then the drop to around or below issue price. I wonder how long the colored stickers on the perth coins will last , I had a couple of colored dragons the paint or whatever it is chipped off.

i don't mind coloured coins its the box and the cert that costs 70 $ i don't like :)

but i do have to wonder why people get burnt over and over again and keep touching the stove to see if its still hot :D makes no sense does it

I wouldn't mind paying the $60-$70 for proofs IF
They made quality wooden cases & not so many proofs ,If they did 3/4 proofs for the year you could justify that kind of $
QUALITY PACKAGING :D

When spot was $28-$29 18 months ago, these proofs used to sell in the $70's as a release price. $112 today. No thanks.

if the going price is $70's then I would buy more than 9 pieces

then if so many people doing the same, then 666 people will get to keep 9 each ;)

PM got $30+ for the map capsule

sadly buyers got to pay for that.

they should make it carded world map coins instead, so that the card can be sold for >$300+

^^^ True. If you have limited supply you use price to ration sales. As it stands, the demand for the coins must be such that the higher price can be maintained. Just saying as a single consumer my demand at $112 is zero.

I'm sick of the Perth mint sending me thick pamphlets about their new releases. I ought to tell them to stop. It's a waste of paper and their money and if I buy any it's a waste of my money. I'm only interested in their low premium numismatic fair.
