And I doubt that the highly sophisticated investors even use negative gearing. After all, how do you leverage the equity in your property portfolio if your assets are returning a loss when it comes to income? Same with shares.
So when I read about these people in the media that couldn't care less about NG (like that dickhead "Greedy landlord"*), it's not because they've found a workaround, it's probably because they're not doing it already and have other strategies in place. But I can't see an easy out for avoiding CGT in the future.
