Australia VS China and the unpreventable recession

Ok, please tell me which ones of these are not Abbott quotes.
That doesn't make them broken promises.

"We are not shutting down any Medicare Locals" - before shutting them all down. Yep, broken promise... not that I know anyone who gives a turtle about this one (except staunch lefties looking to find a broken promise :P)..
"No cuts to education, no cuts to health, no change to pensions, no change to the GST and no cuts to the ABC or SBS" - he literally cut all of them. WRONG. Education, health, pensions not cut, no change to GST. ABC & SBS cut - but again I couldn't care less. I watch neither.
"There will be no deals with independents and minor parties" - too many deals to list. The latest is removing the ban on the Adler shotgun in a deal made with the LDP. WRONG. Taken out of context. The quote is (pre-election result) 'I want to give a clear commitment no matter what result is delivered - there will be no minority government under the Coalition. We will not do any deals with independents and the Greens.''
"There will be no surprises and no excuses from a Coalition Government." - all we hear are excuses. Trivial
"The last thing you are going to see from me are sudden backflips, sudden changes of heart." - lol Trivial +1

But Gillard did say that she wouldn't make a carbon tax, so that means she is a liar. Abbott is ok because he's on your side right?
Yeah, OK. Just one?

My comment stands.
Do yourself a favour, and check facts. ;)

Are you still running windows xp? :D

Could you do me a favour and do up one of those spreadsheets for Abbott? I couldn't be bothered doing more than 2 minutes research.

Just to clarify - you accept that he's a liar, but it doesn't matter because he's on your team?

Finding the biggest pollie liars is a very difficult job.

Finding the incompetent pollies is a lot easier.

Almost easier than finding entitlement thieves actually.

Captain Obvious.

No.
I accept that he has lied.
I don't accept your claim that he "has told way more lies" than Gillard. :P

100% agree.
And nothing will change until we pay them enough to entice competent candidates.
Meanwhile, the rest of Australia is only concerned with how much more a pollie receives than them.

because it is a lot of money for an unskilled job

Yep.
So make it a skilled job and pay accordingly.

I completely disagree. Pay them less and then they won't want to be career politicians. So we'll either have people who do it because they want to serve their country or people who actually have experience in real jobs.

Career politicians are a cancer, paying them more will only make it spread.

Impose the death penalty for getting voted out. Saves us on pensions and disqualifies anyone unwilling to put their life on the line to stand for their convictions.

You can't have your cake and eat it too.
We have career politicians now, who want to serve their country. Problem is they are all turtletards because it is unskilled and lucrative for those with little credentials other than "politician".
We end up with career politicians like.... well, all of them. Or tools who already have the money like Palmer.
Pay corporate rates, say $5-10mil pa, and get a good manager of a "corporation" bigger than any other in the country, who respects the taxpayer and treats them like shareholders rather than sponges.

Any pollie with two brain cells to rub together will get poached by the private sector where they can earn a lot more cheddar and come under less public scrutiny for their actions. The country gets run by the rejects that no one else wants.
