SYDNEY (AFP) - Rising metal prices mean Australia's five cent coin now costs more to make than it is worth, the government admitted Sunday, but added there were no plans to scrap the little piece yet.

Whoa is me, what's a deficit spending, taxing-on-breathing government to do?
- Burn more dollars making things that are worth less than what they cost? or
- Fight inflation and preserve the value of our currency?
