Auction - Wedge Tails, Kookaburras, Pandas, Engelhards

Many thanks for the continued interest and bids on these items.

The auction finishes in a little over 24 hours, at 1630 WA / 1800 NT / 1830 QLD / 1900 SA / 1930 NSW/ACT/VIC/TAS on Sunday 15th January with a 5 minute ‘anti-snipe’ rule. Please see the original post for more details.

Here’s the leader board:

Lot #1 (Wedge Tail Eagles) - $1101 (jcsmrjack)

Lot #2 (1990-2014 Kooks) - $1221 ( jcsmrjack)

Lot #3 (Sheet of 30 Pandas) - $1255 (Jay Reece)

Lot #4 (Waffle-back Engelhards) - $1300 (Silverdealer)

I had a couple of inquiries about the condition of the Kookaburras (Lot #2), and the Pandas (Lot #3).

For the kooks, as best as I can see there are no scratches or milk spots on the coins, but there are some minor scratches on a few of the the capsules. There is some light toning on the 1990 kook in the square capsule, but no toning I can see on any of the other coins. Overall I consider the coins to be in excellent condition.

For the pandas, the question was more about the potential for them to be fakes. No offence taken at the question - it's a legitimate question for a prospective buyer to ask. While the coins have not been XRF'd, they were purchased in 2013 from Bullion Money in Parramatta - I still have the invoice. I've visually compared the pandas in the sheet with both a NGC MS69 graded 2013 panda, and a 2012 BU panda - to my eye the pandas in the sheet are of comparable quality, the detail is good, and I see no inconsistencies between the coins. Attached are some closeup photos.

Could be an interesting finish - standing by on the F5 refresh key
