Ahoy, Welcome Aboard and thanks for the bid to @madaw1 (raising the stakes on Lot 2 (Pandas)

Lot 1 (Olympics) – Still in the Starting Stall…
Lot 2 (Pandas) – $302 / madaw1
Lot 3 (Hutt River) – Still in the Starting Stall…
Lot 4 (The Sovs) – $907 / hardyakkagold
Lot 5 (Sov Holders) – Still in the Starting Stall…
Will update the Auction Post with some better pics as the auction progresses
But to dig a bit deeper on some of the offerings that are (for now
) not receiving as much love let's start with Lot 1 (Olympics)
$200 - The Gymnast Gold Proof
(Thumbnails click to enlarge)
$20 - Team Relay Silver Proof
(Thumbnails click to enlarge)
$20 - The Champions Silver Proof
(Thumbnails click to enlarge)
As you can see from the attached pictures the Gold "The Gymnast" and the Silver "The Champions are both slightly "overweight"
AGW - 0.55oz / ASW - 1.01oz
These were released for the 1996 Summer Olympics (held in Atlanta, USA) and celebrated 100 Years of the Olympic Games with only 7,642 Gold coins minted!!
There were only 27,488 each minted of the $20 Silver coins and the $20 Face Value (and 1oz ASW) makes them fairly unique in our Australian Coin history
Gold Coin Mintage
Silver Coins Mintage
The coins also have a Reeded edge with the lettering "CITIUS ALTIUS FORTIUS" (Faster, Higher, Stronger)
