Are 1oz coins like kooks etc consider numismatic?

Agree. I have x10 5 oz dragons they are a beautiful coin and it has crossed my mind that the snake may be worth a punt on less popularity thus low mintage, but with limited funds I am going for the 2013 pandas if we get some follow through next week. I just love the 3 bear design and it's the first panda that's done it for me since 2008!

Wish I could afford to buy a 5 oz panda but the huge premium just goes against the grain!

As for the kooks, far too few have done anything price wise for me even 10 years after minting. Semi-numismatic is being polite IMO.

If you go to that much trouble to find original square capsules, then you deserve the premium. The noobs won't know any different. :P

And toning can be obtained too!

I guess I am just saying that there's no real definitive way to tell if it's original or restruck.

Doesn't matter, it doesn't change the 1:3 mintage ratio, which I'm guessing where the money will be.
 
So the moment the coin becomes valuable due to the image on the coin it becomes numismatic doesn't it?
 
old ones should be heavier than recent re-minted ones

since the blanks were made.
 
Wouldn't if the coin is 1oz, weight would be the same? So i don't know how are you going to tell the difference, other than the imperfection that the coin might have after 10 odd years.
 
My guess it would be fractions of the gramm, overweight in both cases.
I'll test it when I get original kooks from the deposit.
