Apmex Has Only 21760 of the New 2011 Silver Eagles! Supplies Dropping!

Supplies at Apmex (which is the barometer for the regular retail supply in the US as being the biggest coin dealer) for Eagles are dwindling down quickly on this huge dip. This huge dip should NOT scare holders of the physical stuff as the metal supply is dwindling at a fast rate! As of 6:30 pm PST the amount of 2011 Eagles at Apmex stands at 21760. Will update later

Down the supply goes, and lets not forget, these coins are already on delay for shipment on May 17.
 
I posted yesterday in the "silver coins" section of this forum of the actual numbers that Apmex had of 2011 American Eagles. That number was around 21000 and change. Do keep in mind that these are delayed till May 13 and these are coming straight from the mint! What that means is that their only other source of getting eagles is from people which means silver is going to get really scarce in this month. They are going to increase their buy back prices which in turns increases premiums...wow.

Anyhow, back to the inventory numbers. Around 5pm yesterday PST, Apmex had 24000 Eagles. By nightfall, it was 18000 and change.

So I wake up this morning and it looks so friggin dry. Ill post numbers soon of new inventory but if you thought the shortage of 08 was bad, wait till the 2011 shortage hits very soon.

And yes, Apmex is a good barometer of the retail silver inventory in the US.
 
Bleh. Apmex just secured an extra 80000 eagles. Now inventory at around 88,000 and change. Delay is still there nevertheless for May 13. Yeah, no super scarce supply but ill check back in a week to see how this supply goes.

Nope, not a conspiracy that 5000 eagles being sold in a little over an hour. About 83,000 eagles at the moment, nothing to see here.
 
Did they get the 80k from buying them back from customers?

Apmex likes to play games. For example, they will take 5 of the 2009 kooks and put em on sale at a certain price. A few days later they will sell out and on their site it will say (OUT OF STOCK) or something like that. Two days later they restock another 5 and this time they increase the price by $3.00. They have been doing this with the older kooks, pandas, and britannias as well.

I know people were complaining about them doing that, but hey, if people are willing to pay for that, then so be it. Whatever helps to increase the perceived value of my kooks. :)

As for the 2011 Eagles, I think they had this as backup. I knew APMEX played tricks on older inventory, but didnt think they did with older stuff. Yeah, Im sure some people did sell their new Eagles but my guess is that they had backup

Anyhow, with the rate of these Eagles are flying, they will have no Eagles and Loxmyf can laugh all he wants. I will be laughing too, just that Ill be laughing straight to the bank.
 
72750 Eagles left.

Just 10 minutes ago they had 72053 Eagles.

They restocked 700 and maybe this is from customer getting shaken out or again, just adding additional inventory.

Im still gonna post numbers.
 
Again, Ive moved this thread to Silver section. Ill do one last update. Yesterday it was around 88000

Now its at 72750. They are flying off the shelves.

Dont check this thread loxmyf, only close to 5000 eagles sold in over an hour....nothing to see....its all conspiracy.

There is a trick depending on what browser you are using to see inventory of 10k amount of coins that I can explain later.
But bed time and need to do one last update.:cool:
 
Getting close to midnight here in the west coast of US.....inventory right now at 61756.

Yes, I do notice APMEX at times will increase inventory in smaller amounts of several hundred (they did this one time) and may even have back up inventory...

but at least we can get a rough estimate of how much silver eagles is leaving their site (Im keeping tabs on 2011 since that seems to be the main coin in the US)..
