By the way, suez environment was one i came across, do have a couple othes noted at home will try and remember to post in a week when i can. None caught my eye as a great buy.

bb, I believe that is the company I looked at about 4 years ago. Shortly after I started researching them, they had a huge merger and I dropped the idea. I really didn't see any really good water investments back then. Like Jimmy Rogers said, own the water rights and you are evil, but come up with cost effective water treatment device and you are a hero and wealthy.

Phoslock is another penny stock listed on the ASX.

I woudn't be in a hurry to buy any at the moment though. They have posted another loss and will need to raise some cash soon, assuming that they can stay solvent.

Take a look at them and see what you think.

It's in the water purification business, so I suppose it depends how you define as a water stock.

Basic water provisioning has been a government monopoly in most states, and even where some degree of privatisation has happened, I'm sure that the government will step back in if profits ever got "too high".

I suspect that if you want exposure to water, then it's better to get it indirectly. Maybe even pipeline manufacturers and constuctors, given the ageing infrastructure.

I would have thought investing in Coca Cola Amatil would actually be a safe entry into the water market as i believe they own significant water deposits and have very in-expensive water supply deals.

When I say water resources I mean three things

Purifying drinking water, filtration and desal
Mining water waste treatment and recycling
Water finding (bore water) companies
