Anyone here stack post 46 shillings or florins?

Where do you even find film canisters nowadays?

Sounds like a great way to store florins.

I have only been stacking since about mid july and So far I have about 8 pre florins and 14 post florins.

Definitely don't melt them, they will become harder and harder to find in good condition if at all, they will then demand a very high premium because every one is sending them to get refined and turned into metal value bars instead of just putting them away. If you have no room bury it, BUT keep track of it, co-ordinates, in between boulders, my dad lost 4 kilos of 1966 round 50's up at his farm bloody shame.

Sounds like you should hire a metal detector and go searching for some silver. 4kg of 1966 50s is a whole lot of motivation I am sure.

I would like to point out why some people like to clean there coins now days, thou i do not recommend on rare coins.

1. [EBAY] people on ebay seem to like there coins shiny, though everyone knows it is very hard to preserve a silver coin in its lustful shiny appearance, people on ebay still would like there coins nice and shiny. These days appearance of a coin can make you have a edge in selling your coin, even though the grade is low, shiny coins are best to sell on ebay.

2. I have been in the coin industry for many years and i can tell you there is a change in collectors views on cleaned coins. In the past when you talk about a CLEANED coin most collectors would stay away from it, now even if the coin has been clean at the right price people would still tend to buy it. The added bonus of a shiny coin  . The eye appeal has changed alot in the new collectors, as old timers would like a nice tonned high grade coin, new collectors like a nice clean shiny coin, times have changed.

bugger i mean to edit the last post sry double added posting

I went down to Big W at the photo printing section and asked if they had any for sale and the gave me a bag of 60 with lids for free!!!!

Shame 50cent rounds dont fit in them

and the tubes can fit 25 coins exactly...I am going to pack mine in 8oz per tube (24coins) :D

I was able to fit 29 x 50s coins in the ones i got recently if they were filled to the brink, but 25 would fit comfortably with a little headroom.

I quite like the ram's head shilling design myself! They're probably not the most space-efficient coin to stack as bullion, but they're quite a durable alloy -which makes them practical imho.
