Anyone bored of silver

Jesus H Cornchips... Damien - it's OK - I can take away all of the boredom, at least temporarily, if you were to just pack all your silver into a parcel & let it bore the heck out of me...

I'm too busy to be bored - and at 22 believe me you should live every single day like it's your last, because one day you'll blink - 30 years will have passed and you'll find yourself being that guy in Once In A Lifetime by Talking Heads.

Seriously - I am that man pondering 'How did I get here?'/'Where does that highway go to'/'this is not my beautiful wife' etc - as I suspect are several of our learned (OK, I was going to use words like 'jaded' 'gnarly' & 'cynical' but hey - it being Monday, etc etc) friends on SS...

Especially Pelican.

And possibly DocRhythm with his Patented Temporal Wobble-ometer.

And DEFINITELY Hiho.

There - I've said it.

Tina Weymouth anyone?

When silver goes to the moon, it will be accompanied by many issues (political, social, economic).

I am not excited by the prospect, I am preparing for it.

Anyone bored of it? As in, the price isn't shooting straight up so it's boring?

I bought all these oz of silver and now they're just sitting on my table. I kind of wanna sell them and buy things that I dont need i.e car, clothes.

How do you stop yourself from impulse buying

If you are that bored of it then send it to me :P

If you think thats boring try Stamp collecting you have a choice between square and rectangular stamps.
Least with Silver you have a variety of shapes..My autism is showing through!

Actually, if you want to be autistic (or is it anal?) - a square is a rectangle. You should have said, "you have the choice between square and oblong"

Work is important but you need to make some room for what you like outside of that. Good luck!

A life is a process. It's a series of experiences, one after the other. You can't "waste" your life unless you choose to waste each experience. And any experience, happy or tragic, has the seed of a good life planted in it somewhere, it's a case of pursuing the good from that experience. Travel is great, it broadens the mind and leave fantastic memories. But working is also great if you can see how your work makes a difference to someone else. If you enjoy it, all the better, but if not, then pursue something more engaging.

Now I can be the most cynical b*****d on the planet, and sometimes I'm sure I am, but if there is anything I have learned, it's that the events of your past can only dictate the shape of your future if you let them. And the older I get now, the more convinced I am that the thing most likely to cause you to waste your life, is the fear of wasting your life.

So the silver spot price isn't very exciting at the moment, that doesn't mean that silver in itself is a problem. Do you enjoy the idea that it's a safe haven? Do you enjoy the look and feel of it? Do you enjoy its history? The thought of its possible future? Then enjoy it for those reasons, and don't pressure yourself that spot has to go to the moon tomorrow for it to be worth something.

As I said, life is a series of experiences. Don't try to live them all in a week. :)

Damien - take that trip overseas - it is great to do it at your age, I backpacked all over the world when I was young and I couldn't recommend it more. It will open your eyes to how other people live, broaden your outlook on the world, you will meet amazing people. I did it without much money but survived, took jobs whereever I could to get by.
Just be a little patient, wait till silver is higher again, sell it and do that trip overseas!

It's more of a hobby to me.
Sets of things, collections, obscure coins/bars etc.

If you're buying 1kg/100oz bars then sure, it's going to be boring ;)

Hey silvertongue, your comments were a really good read, thanks for that. I think your view is similar to mine.

If it bores you too much, try boring me with your stash
Pm me if you can be bothered
Cheers
Alfie

Not in that way D - The point is you'll find yourself there anyway so don't waste time not living life to the full now... and one lifetime isn't enough to cram in everything this World has to offer - (I have tried!) done some fabulous things - met incredible & amazing people along the way - icons - the 'do-ers' of our civilization, culture, literature, politics, art, science etc etc... Also had mountains of crap to deal with too - rough with the smooth of course... There's always an opportunity cost. That's no 'waste'... it's called 'experience'. DO take a tip from me, seriously - get everything you dream about doing done BEFORE even considering having kids - that's a .9999999999999 dead cert lol!

Then reality will REALLY kick in mate - and your life will never be your own again lol!!!

Best,
VRS ;)t

I always hear that quoted - but actually, pm markets being what they are, one can perhaps compare that lack of a return to eg investing in small or medium cap commodity/exploration/junior producers who haven't established a track of shareholder distributions - and possibly less risky given the performance (and perceived risk associated) in that particular space.
