Anybody lost a gold Bar in East Vic Park?

Unmarked $100k is a whole different matter though, I'd assume 99% would keep it.

I don't think it would be that high, but probably not far off the mark.
But make it a $100k gold bar and the pendulum might swing the other way. Most people don't understand gold, and it's not easily liquid without question so people would get scared on how to handle it.
e.g. Joe Average would probably just try and take it to a gold buyer in the local shopping centre and have no clue about the $5k reporting limit for example.

if those that found it have any brains they won't be claiming it.

That is 100% melted stolen jewellery. The people that made that bar will be wanting it back and probably have no problem hurting people to get it.

SMH!!! There are some really twisted views on honest and integrity being displayed in this thread and it has been a real eye opener.
To those who do the right thing. I was once in a queue at a shop and the woman in front of me dropped three $50 notes. I picked them up and handed it to her. She just snatched it and stormed away. I know that the lack of a simple thank you makes you jaded but I was the better person in that situation and your integrity is more important than any amount of gold or cash, so feel good about it.
