Should I start investing in silver eagles along with just the generic bars and rounds? Due to the collectibility along with the silver itself?

I started silver bullion collecting back in August, so far all I have is generic bars and rounds. Should I start getting some American silver eagles because of the future collectibility to them. And because of higher premiums?

Let me know if you think it's a good idea and if I should get some in my next order! They are going for below $20 now on Apmex!!

Thank you

ASE has no collectible value. The mintage every year is in 10's of millions. The high premium is due to clever marketing by metal sellers/pumpers. Consider China Panda instead, with 10 millions mintage, yearly design change and worldwide collectors base.

2016 Silver Eagle Mintages
Bullion Mintage: 37,701,500
Proof Mintage: TBD
Uncirculated (Burnished) Mintage: TBD

2015 Silver Eagle Mintages
Bullion Mintage: 47,000,000
Proof Mintage: 707,518
Uncirculated (Burnished) Mintage: 223,879

2014 Silver Eagle Mintages
Bullion Mintage: 44,006,000
Proof Mintage: 944,757
Uncirculated (Burnished) Mintage: 253,169

Disclaimer: I do not own a single ASE

Thank you! So other then the pandas is there any other collectible bullion you suggest?

I have this video on my page as well, cull silver is a very smart guy when it comes to silver, give him a listen and you can go from there. I’ve decided to stick to the generic stuff, but be careful when it’s time to sell some generic sells and some doesn’t. Like don’t get a bunch of merry Christmas silver rounds, I stick to the generic sunshine mint silver eagle.

Thanks so much! That was a great informative video.

I think stack for weight and liquidity, but enjoy yourself with some out there, fun coins and bars to put on display of just to keep you interested along the way.

I got one coin from most of the major mints in the world, well the recognisable ones, just to keep on display for myself. Otherwise I stack in 10oz and kilo bars mostly these days.
