Am I watching my life savings go down the plug hole ?

I'm gutted I've no spare money at the min ...

Aw you poor thing

Remortgage your house, use the funds to buy more PMs and lower the average cost of your stack :P

Courage (and optimism) my friend, but if Silver goes to $15 an ounce, give me a call, and I will buy the lot off you.

Although I have been checking out the POS lately quite a lot, I don't plan on buying anymore. The ridiculous 20% premiums us aussies have to pay is really frustrating.

Who cares if silver hits $15 when we will have to pay $21+ an oz?. I would have to invest a large sum of money in silver to reduce my average cost per oz to a worthwhile level.

I have enough silver at a average total price of $30oz. Not too happy about that figure but it could be worse.

I just hope I get the chance again to double my money at least in the not do distant future.

I would like to buy more siver but i think money is better put in income producing assets/businesses instead. Still trying to work that part out though:)

I've gave someone 150,000 for his stack which at the time was a few grand under spot price;
100 kilo bars,
20 kruggers,
100 full sovs,
100 half sovs,
500 random oz rounds
(and a few other bits and bobs)

I own my house mortgage free and a few rental property's still mortgaged

I would rather have my money in something i physically can handle, then in a system that doesn't physically exist. Fiat currencies always fail and its heading that way now. I feel you will benefit holding on to your PM's. Keep stacking what you can, but only what you can afford to.

This seems to be a running theme here.

In regards to value of anything..

Yeap even in these simple terms not everyone can see it. The masses are so brainwashed, they just cant see whats in front of them. Thanks for the video, its yet another one that makes me feel im doing the right thing. :)

Yes excellent video.

I recently had a long discussion with a very smart financial bigwig. He had no enthusiasm for, or much knowledge of gold, having in essence left it in the 'stuff I learned at Uni' pile. His perspectives really made me re-assess my approach to financial security. Interestingly though, I didn't revise my 'goldbug' inclination, and the above in essence is why.

Thanks for the clip.

Why did you put all your eggs in one basket?

perhaps just perhaps there is no better investment at the moment? think undervalued assets :)

Many currencies, including the USD are better investments right now than bullion silver with no numi value. Will I say the same thing in two years? I expect not, but I am investing for right now.

That would depend on how you define investment, eg when you expect to want to cash out. If you are only looking at near term value then that would be more likened to trading than investment.

if you are indeed looking at probable values five years and more ahead - what is what most people would define as "investment" - then certainly silver would be a very good investment indeed in my opinion.

Sorry but it this isnt a troll I dont know what is...

Starts off by saying
I went all in in the summer, every penny I've ever saved is now tied up in PM
Don't think I'll ever get to retire now

Then goes on to say he has $150pounds in metals, owns his house plus a couple of investment properties...

What a joke..

I'm feeling very nervous about silver prices being in free fall,

I've put all my eggs in one basket here, I'd been saving heavy and built up a nice big pile of cash which I put into silver bars and gold coins,

I went all in in the summer, every penny I've ever saved is now tied up in PM

Don't think I'll ever get to retire now, think i'll be working till the day I drop dead at this rate !

It's not looking good is it ?
I agree you are fucked.

You may need to move to Spain.

Yeh, anyone that can pull 150 big ones out and buy that amount of PMs alongside owning a handful of property is having a laugh when they then add "Don't think I'll ever get to retire now, think i'll be working till the day I drop dead at this rate"
Get real mate...

I think that might be a little harsh. Most people do think all the money they have is in the bank and don't count assets, as savings. A new person new to the game would think like this and is probably looking for some support that he did the right thing.

Well, that is the question isn't it?
Did he do the right thing?
Maybe, maybe not.
Point is

- he is not all in, not even close to it
- he's got significant other assets and many years ahead of him

Hard to see what he is winging about to be honest as it looks like he can afford to hold as long as needs be.

Oh i get how good a position he is in, but he may think he has made a bad choice due to the value of silver going down from when he brought it. If i was in his shoes back when i started i would look to forums like this, hoping you can put my mind at ease.

If he is indeed trolling, let him. The info in the thread is still good for those that are not. And if he is genuine and thinks like he does, then he wouldnt feel very much welcomed to the forum.

Either way, i always like reading what you guys say. Tend to learn alot. :)
