Am I the only one here that LOVES the Canadian Maple?

The Canadian Maple would have to be my favorite silver coin.

They are great value, not too much dearer than a basic round but are cheaper than our own local equivalent coins, they look pretty nice too.
They are great for stacking, I tend to purchase these more than anything else lately.

Any other fans here?
 
To me the canadian maple is lower than a generic round.
Its your favorite coin? Do u own alot of others??
 
I have a few Kookaburras, Koalas and American Eagles have considered getting some generic rounds but I tend to buy the Maples especially when I can get them cheap.

What generic rounds and coins do you recommend?
 
I have a few Maple Leafs but find them the most unattractive of the various government bullion coins but to each their own.
 
I like the new design with the radial lines.

I have one of the older designs but I wouldn't need a second one.
 
I guess the tight arse in me likes them because they are around the same price of some generic rounds and are a fair bit cheaper than a lot of government issued coins, it certainly makes a difference when buying in bulk.
 
I am not that sold on government rounds, if you are going to go low premium then you might as well go generic :)
 
I do like the maple leafs, I'm not hardcore on them but I do like them, I just got a 2014 today and it didn't look that good in the low grade capsule it came in so I opened it up and it looked really good, going to put it in an air tite when I get a chance

Well you must be a big fan of milk spots then.




I'd go a 10oz lunar or kook for the same price per oz.
 
I cannot bring myself to pay 25% over spot for Ag bullion. I don't stack 1oz pure at all and it was a logical and calculated decision. I have bought a few 1oz coins for the novelty but I don't classify them as part of my stack.

I'm with you gigrantor, like the look of the maples and to be honest, I've never seen an actual milk spot.
That said, don't think 1oz coins are value for money so don't buy too many and thus only have a few maples.
 
I like Maples, but in the final wash up they are just another pure silver coin to be negotiated at market value when needed. Even the bloke in a farmers market will accept them I am sure.

Easily recognized, and negotiable at known value.

"silver, is silver, is silver".

With so much competition Maples are close to the bottom of the list... milk spots alone completely ruin the investment potential.. its not just Maples.. Philharmonics are rubbish for the same reason .. Pandas with the big premiums must be a weary investment option as are all coins that have the potential to milk.

You're definitely not alone. I also absolutely adore milk spots (and by extension, therefore Maples). I prefer milk spots when they're actually opaque and I like it best when multiple spots cover the majority of each side of the coin. I look forward to the day when RCM milk spots get so horrendous that you can actually measure the thickness of them.

Seriously speaking... The saddest thing of all is the Maple could be a really good bullion coin if it wasn't for those stupid, ugly RCM signature milk spots and RCM's defiantly unconcerned, publicly stated "What--me worry?" attitude. Oh, well...
