According to Perth Mint mintage figures they usually sell more 1kg than 10oz coins (at least for koalas and kooks), so perhaps it's not so surprising...

Do you think the 10 oz Koala & Kook could be a sleeper? Everyone else are buying others and the 2012 could be a low mintage winner longer term?
