Saw the NRL one and thought I would share my thoughts on the upcoming season. Will post opinion of round 1 closer to date.
So far the following futures bets look appealing:
Fremantle to finish higher than Hawthorn at end of home & away season @ $3 [TAB] - looks massive overs especially with Roughhead ruled out for the 1st half of the season. Freo had the best defence in the competition last year, expecting them to continue to strangle teams 5th or below.
Sydney to finish top 8 @ $1.45 (with a cheeky smaller bet on them to make top 4 @ $3) [TAB] - finals campaign last year was excusable given missing personnel in Franklin, Parker & Jack. Will benefit enormously from the end of year cleanout and injection of young blood (Talia, Mills, Sinclair). Will also benefit from the reduced interchange, given they still have one of the best (if not the best) midfield groups in the competition.
Collingwood to miss the 8 @ $2.15 - can't believe they are so short to make the 8; considering they will be involved in a 7-way battle for the final 3 spots in the 8 [Richmond, Western Bulldogs, GWS, Adelaide, North Melbourne & Port being the other contenders]. Have brought in talent but are still rebuilding in my opinion.
