Advice Please About Posting NGC Graded Silver Rupee Overseas

Thanks in Advance :)

I am thinking about selling my NGC graded MS64 1918 India Silver rupee on Ebay and I am confused about posting to anywhere/everywhere outside of Australia.

I do know though that I can only post to some countries identified by Auspost which is fine.

I have also done some other research via the Auspost website and I have also just come back also from the local Post Office,but I am still none the wiser for my efforts.

I sell on ebay,they pay with paypal and how do I get it to them in using a ???? type of postage ????

Some helpful tips and advice is needed.

I believe I've gotten my Aussie items via AusPost Registered Post International, as well as AusPost Express Courier International (to the US).


I also believe either the sellers get discounts on volume, and/or eat some of the postage, themselves -- because I don't think I've ever paid the full stated rate, save once..
 
registered post international or pack and track to US UK NZ all other countries Express Courier International which is expensive so a rupee in a slab 22 $ to AU friendly countries add 13 % ish for fee's .

Express Courier International probably 50 $ for the slab to other countries.

my advice stick with AU friendly countries :D
 
Another thing..

Not sure if you have anything else to sell at the same time, but if you do, it might make sense to list multiple items all at once.

That way, a potential international buyer could check out your other current listings, and decide that it might make sense to combine postage for 2 or more items, which would spread out shipping costs -- and make it that much more likely to buy from you.


Speaking from experience on the buyer's side..

What description would you put on the paper work ??

If you had 1oz of Gold,surely you would not say so - 1oz of Gold right.

I bought 2 full NGC graded Sovs from the US and the seller put something like "non valuable" non numismatic token or something like that - what would you right for my NGC graded Silver coin if you sent it overseas sold on ebay ????

I get most of my slabbed from within the US, where it's not applicable.

A few from Europe.. I don't recall there was even a description on those.

Only 1 package with slabbed from AUS.. Don't remember the exact words/phrasing, but basically said that the sender did an appraisal (of ___??) for me, and was now returning my items.


Have had some funny ones for bars/rounds, though. :lol:


I'd wager that some postal & customs workers might have an inkling in some cases, but even if they don't, the majority of them don't really care either way.

And you're correct: Advertising in detail *exactly* what's in there & its exact purchase price probably isn't a good idea..
 
I just got some white powder from OS it had a card in it and had been opened by customs if you didn't know it would look like coke or H so they are on the ball here customs so the dog must have sniffed it out it was KH2PO4.

my point here is they don't give a shit about gold or silver they are looking for drugs, food, weapons, huge wads of cash etc..

back in the day I used to send a lot of PM 1oz numi coins to the US and I just wrote collector token or what ever something that lets them know its a round thing :)

after all it's not money try spending it and no need to write in metal content its just a round thing or as suggested a warranty return but go token.

never had any dramas.

Declared as some kind of powder probably gets automatically yanked for further inspection.


Not to mention random x-ray screening..
