I like how the daughter can't claim it but a fianc can.
United States citizens should be alert to attempts at fraud by persons claiming to live in Ghana who profess friendship or romantic interest over the Internet. Correspondents who quickly move to discussion of intimate matters could well be the inventions of scammer
Start by considering the fact that scams are common enough to warrant this warning. Next, look over this partial list of indicators. If any of them sound familiar, you are likely the victim of an internet scam.
* You met a friend/fianc online
* Your correspondent professed love at warp speed
* Your friend/fianc is plagued with medical problems requiring loans from you
* You are promised repayment upon the inheritance of alluvial gold or gems
* You've sent large sums for visas or plane tickets but the person cannot seem to make it out of Ghana
* When your friend does try to leave the country, h/she is detained by immigration officials demanding payment or bribes
etc.

* Scammer has 200 bars of 24K Ghanaian gold, left behind from her/his deceased Grandmother, each bar with a value of $16,000 dollars in the U.S. but had no value in Ghana. He/she (scammer) was to fly to the states with the gold and then the Immigration Customs Department at the Ghana airport called the victim. The (scammer) was arrested for trying to get out the country with undocumented gold.

Seeing as it's now only 22 carats I suggest you cut the tops off,stick them up your arse and convince customs they are a suppository carotene supplement.
I guarantee you'll be fine.
Best of luck!

Baab1051 said:Hi,
I have a very interesting situation happening. My fianc has received an inheritance from her late father in the form of 22Kgs of gold bullion. The problems come it is that she is from Ghana. She has only an inheritance document stating that the gold was her property now. She managed to leave Ghana on Sunday night but got detained at Heathrow for the gold had no legal ownership or change of ownership from her father's name.
The gold cannot be returned to Ghana without attracting serious questions that really cannot be answered. So it appears the only practical answer is to have the gold transferred into my name and I take on full ownership of the gold. This is being done in Ghana now. My question then is as the owner of this gold and it is being transported by my fianc, she will have to declare it. Any idea what happens from there? Is there any way we could be penalised for anything? Is VAT still payable in Ghana? At any rate I welcome a discussion on this as I am very torn up about this.
Thank you in advance.![]()
