I'm 22 and in the same boat as you.lol.

Well at least you guys can see the problems. When you need two incomes to own a mortgage you really must question if its worth it.
I have never owned or will own a home, not that i haven't had the opportunity to hock myself to the eyeballs.
I despise the entire banking system and will not play their game.
I have never had a credit card, always cash or go without.
Your investments will serve you well.

Wish i was still 22... Good on the pair of you. I bet you will be very happy with your choices in another 22 years. Ignore those that say the price is too high, no one will pay that, it has to fall.
Every time there have been rises in the past these are the things muttered and yet we know look back and wish we could still get some at the then way to high prices.

My whole stack to anyone with a time machine. :D

I think the more important message is: DON'T BLOW ALL YOUR WAGES ON BOOZE/WOMEN/CARS/CRAP
Not all of it, just most of it. :)

I think one ounce per month rather than per fortnight is more realistic. Two ounces per month requires two incomes or a very large income. If you were able to save an ounce a month for 15 years then historically you would be able to buy a median house during the cycle lows (perhaps with the exception of Sydney)... much better than a 30 year mortgage!

The year was 97, i was 27 and gold was at $280.00 per oz thereabouts. Driving to work i would think to myself ' i should buy an oz each pay', payday came, drinking, women, partying etc etc life was good, plenty of cash, would burn through it all and have nothing to show for it.
Driving to work the next week, again hear the price of gold and think to myself 'i should buy an once of gold each pay', payday again came and went many times and i never bought gold.
Silver is still within reach, this lesson learned is a lesson to share.
First 9 + working years of my life was in a teaching hospital. Approximately 1000 student and graduate nurses, a great hotel right across the road, and me with a job that was relatively well paid and no responsibilities; and no such thing as aids! For those few years I had a lifestyle that many would kill for. So do I have any regrets? Some. I know now I should have begun preparing for the future. But there no use wishing you'd not done the things you did. Learn from it and move on. And if nothing else, I' ll definitely have something to smile about in my old age.
All the best to the good people on this forum.

I'm 18, finished my high schooling last year, working this year to buy silver, currently up to 150oz. None of my friends invest or know anything about investing, not alone buy a stock. I wished they all read rich dad poor dad.

Oh boy ! I wish I was able to have said that when I was 18. I'm not going to try to offer any advice to anyone who has such an obviously good grip on things, other than to suggest never miss an opportunity to increase your knowledge or improve yourself.Cheers! ozboy
