There is a limited number of them, afterall. Besides, since no buyer has them in hands as of yet, it makes it much more difficult to sell and re-sell, and re-re-sell.

Yeah, I was afraid of this happening.
Apparently SM is a newer client of the mint, and perhaps a relatively smaller one, at that.. which probably puts him at a disadvantage when compared to long-time clients with more/larger orders, who might be getting preferential treatment.
For the 2016 coins, seems like he might have to adjust the release schedule to avoid this in the future, if other clients have a need for their products on a regularly-scheduled annual basis.
3 months for a pre-order? The wait is getting a little long in the tooth.. :/
I'm fast losing interest in the coins. Be careful there fella, you may get lambasted for not loving these coins. LOL. Remember my comment about selling 2 of them for 225.00 each.

Not into stats at all, but I somehow intuitively think that if 250 individuals each purchased 2 coins then the odds are that only one of the 250 individuals might receive two consecutive serial numbers.

I believe that if one were to get consecutive serial #'s, then others' chances would also increase a bit by that much, too.
Anyway, pretty cool that the proofs are going out 1st, instead of waiting on the BU's.. SM didn't have to do that, as it increases his postage costs.

My guess is that the wait will have been worth it for those who were lucky enough to pick up a few at the early initial price.

The premium is high for a reason....it's called production costs per unit (including labor, etc)
