I really like these coins and have 2 of the unguilded 1 Oz'ers in mu stack and probably will be buying many more, just wondered how other people rate these coins as investments and for pleasure of owning.

I bought some of the 2010s(?). They have a low premium and look nice, but I believe they have fairly small market.

better than lots of others BUT where to buy? BB has been sold out for months!.. cheap yet still have the date stamped so older dates may appreciate if the series gets more popular down the track.. unlimited mintage is not great news for the secondary market but much better than the NZ silver fern

The gilded ones are one of the best looking coins I've ever seen...

i have a gilded one, love it. the new zealand mint makes the best packaging.

Agreed... NZ Mint makes the best high-end proof coins PERIOD>.. and VERY realistically priced compared to our Western State Govt Owned Mint .. $109 for a gilded dragon... LOL suckers. (3.6x spot HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA)

Nice to see the Taku's getting a little love, maybe it's time to open a Taku section to rival those Pandas.

The 1oz are nice, but the 5oz are just gorgeous.

Im a fan. Great looking coins. Much prefer over ASE's, Maples or Phili's. Make a nice change from Kooks and Dragons.

I'd love a 5 oz Taku but i only seem to be able to find these plain silver 1 oz ones in the UK and actually a fair few of them (they had just over 30 come in stock a couple days ago) down to a few left again though now.

Just hoping the price does drop a bit on them (or at least from where i buy as price hasn't dropped with silvers spot)

What's the mintage on those?

Unlimited for the Takus.

This is the big difference between the Taku and the Fern. The ferns are only at around the 10,000 mark.

However the Taku kills the fern from a design perspective.

I like the Taku coin too, I have a 5 oz and mine looks like a bad strike and kind of dinged up but it goes to figure since i bought it from Gainsville and they usually seem to send poor quality coins and packing. Is your 5 oz a nice struck coin free of dings?
