Today I saw a 5oz Silver Rooster in a store at Spot.
Should I have bought it?
Im not a fan of the Lunars really, but 5oz at spot seems reasonable, no?
They seem to fetch a good premium on evilbay.

Identical to the one pictured below.

Yes, well I hovered over it for a long while. It looked in excellent condition.
Are the "YES" responses for any reason in particular?
According to Perth Mint mintage material, 10,000 was the maximum mintage and they had declared sales of approx. 4,400.

yes, you should have picked it up. Was a great deal. There is only one on sale on ebay. It is in Russia and they are asking $568 for it. There is a coloured 5 oz Rooster that they are asking $700+ for! Any Lunars at spot are always worth getting. The best one I got was a 10 oz series 1 Lunar Rabbit mint condition at spot and also a 1kg series 1 Rabbit at spot from a Melbourne bullion dealer.

Might have to give them a call and ask them to hold on to it... might be able to shoot back there in a bit.

Ok, Ill have to revise my earlier observation regarding condition, now I've held it in my hands.
Earlier in the day, I was viewing it through a rather dirty capsule, locked inside a vitrine.

The condition is not mint... its "good". Theres some tarnishing of the matte areas and light scratching of the mirrored areas, and a few nicks around the ribbed edges. It looks like some goose has taken to it with the Silvo!
I wondered whether it has much numismatic value, given its condition. I thought that if I'm paying spot, I might as well be buying a brand spanking new 5oz from the mint from Series 2.

Yes I believe you should have purchased it brother

However you should not have posted details on the forum
your possibly the lowest form of stacker and may be labelled a "low baller"

You could have told a white lie and said the purchase price was spot +30%
No one really needed to know!

keep stacking some great bargains ATM

Thank you for the education... my bad entirely.

I had no idea there was a term applied to the novices who ask innocent (and rather frustrating for the veterans, Im sure) questions.

I consider myself enlightened, and apologise to anyone for sounding like a douche.

You did nothing wrong Z. I don't know where dollars gets the lowball comment from. You didn't ask for spot. The dealer was selling for spot.
