5oz Koala Proof.

I've just managed to secure one from a dealer online at the RRP ($475) rather than an inflated price.

It took me ages to find someone with any stock. :)

*insert happy dance here*

Thats very nice =) Thanks for sharing it =) Pretty sure the price will spike and become rare among collectors!

Seems the serials from 1-4699 are NGC slabbed and go for USD$799
4700-5000 are the rare ones in boxes (only 300 produced) and originally went for AUD$475

Interesting observation. I wonder if there were 4,699 boxes + CoAs that were disposed of by the overseas buyer(s), or if they were sent to the buyer(s) without the packaging?

I hadn't thought about the 300 remaining boxed coins being 'rarer' because of their packaging :)

:D

(roll on Silver Stackers effect!)

They're nice coins too.

From a stackers perspective, not a bargain at all.
From a collectors perspective, only 300 exist in Australia ... bargain I think but give it time to mature.

Reminds me of my carded koalas ;)

This THREAD shows a slabbed version together with a COA ... no mention of the box though.

Agreed. But then when you see andean cat 1oz can sometimes go quite high per ounce, that also does not make sense. I was also nearly got caught by the 99999 factor, but after sitting back and thinking a bit, maybe it's not that worth it.
(This is by no means a criticism of Andean owners or sellers, just an observation and comparison only). At least the 5 ouncer is beautifully struck.
