When I was a kid I was obsessed with the show "Beyond 2000" and I recall an episode where they harvested the minerals from the oceans, and yep - it was a giant seive and after a few days they showed all the minerals, including the gold. I was amazed, and still am. BUT it is uncommercial, so noone is doing it.

Wish they would make a show "Beyond 2100"

Fact 10 is a bit disturbing. "The gold held at Fort Knox is accounted for by the United States as an asset valued at $44.22 per ounce."

Fact 51: (For the musos) The best vocal microphones are constructed of large thin diaphragms coated with a fine layer of pure gold. ;)

If there is so much gold in the oceans does that mean that there would actually be more gold than silver in the world?

i like #45.
The Aztec word for gold, "teocuitatl," was translated by Europeans as meaning "excrement of the gods."
