Would anyone in the forum know any details about this coin...? such as worth, mintage, or other details...? Please advice, I find very little information about this coin on the web and I am thinking about getting one. Thank you in advance... :)

Looks a bit dodge mate.
Might not be real silver let alone real gold gilded.

Maybe just me, but I generally run away from anything saying gold plated.

Mintage of 2,500 and could probably get one for around AUD$85-$95

In 2014 to commemorate the Canadian Maple Leaf The Royal Canadian Mint struck a limited issue Maple Leaf $5 Five Dollar solid fine 999 Silver coin weighing one ounce of fine Silver plated with fine 24k Gold. The reverse design depicts a Maple Leaf while the obverse has the portrait of Her Majesty the Queen Elizabeth II.

I'm pretty positive the mint had nothing to do with the gilding of that coin. 99.9% positive that it's an aftermarket creation from Germany.

Htu08, I hear you and those are my concerns exactly.... I want to verify that this is an authentic Canadian Maple Leaf...! Thanks for your reply....

House, I read that part as well but the links seem a bit shady... can you confirm then that the coin is legit? is that website a legit house to buy silver coins? Please advice if you could.... Thanks.

More than likely as that was the only info I found. The RCM have released gilded Maples before, one was issued for the 20th anniversary of the coin.

Edit: There's plenty of legit coins that have an aftermarket gild applied, have a good few myself. Can't vouch for the website but found one on eBay

Yes! These coins then have gold applied to them by a third party while the coins are regular 2014 Maple Leafs....! Now I know, your ebay link shows this information... Thank you all for your posts...

Also, not sure about you guys but I would rather have an original unchanged product from the mother company.... don't think I will buy one.

Also, I think after market changes are technically illegal as it's defacing legal tender.

I get the original and the gilded :D Bit pricey but it's more the hobby side of PM's for me. Check out the gilded Canadian Wildlife versions, that's what got me interested.

in germany some respectable dealers sell this coin its a nice gilded coin and there are 5000 off them all the paranoia about legit or not gilded pandas and maples are around a long time and people like them
