30th Anniversary Chinese gold and silver panda

Panda America's shipping is so expensive. Since I'm in Canada, they wanted $60 shipping for the 5 oz silver coin. That's some outrages shipping charges for registered mail. And with that, it makes the coin cost up to $655. Making it almost the same price as say from naomi on eBay. I'm having someone in China to buy one for me. But even then it is not that much cheaper 3840 CNY is still $609 USD. At least I don't know where to get it in China for 3200 CNY issue price.

Probably a bad time to buy Pandas in China right now.

Things are going crazy right now with dealers buying Pandas (esp. Gold) at prices much higher than eBay/US retail prices.

Good points fishball ... I think I'm going to wait for the histeria to die down before diving into these 30 Anniversary Pandas

Yeah well I only want the 5 oz silver coin. 3840 CNY is about 609 USD. Not cheap, but then I can't find any where to buy for cheaper (after shipping cost). Let's see any one else can find a better price around. :)

Wow! I came across these 30th Anniversary Chinese Pandas today... very very pretty!

Totally cool anime/cartoony kinda design.

I wasn't able to buy them though... HUGE prices at the moment...

I'll talk to some friends and dealers over the weekend and see what I can do in terms of a group buy :)

I think you are quite correct Fish... prices are not as low as spot is...

It's true that the price should be cheaper on these coins,
but the price wont be anywhere near spot price because there are also costs to create this coin, box and coa

I'm not really happy with the size (1/4 oz), as silver coin collector I think 1/4 oz coin is just too small to hold.
If this coin were minted in 1 oz size, I don't mind to pay $70 for it

Forget $70, standard Chinese price for 1oz silver proof coin is around $130.

Mainland Chinese dealers never care about spot price.

Good point ... why would dealers/collectors in China or anywhere ever be concerned with spot price with numismatics ?
