Hi,

I would like to bring this to your attention:

25th-silver-maple-leaf.jpg

This is the 25 year anniversary version of the Maple Leaf coin.

Sells for 26-28 $, about 3-4 $ more than the standard Maple Leaf.

Think this has some numismatic potential? Will it be worth more later?

Mintage is 1 million (huge!)

For this coin it will come specially with 25 milkspots.

No more, no less. :P

Does it come with milk spots :/

The "milk spots" indeed are quite a problem. They appear quite frequently. What is the cause - does anybody know?

It's caused by the planchet cleaning and preparation process, some residue crap gets baked in. The problem has pervaded for 25 years straight and despite the infamous markings, the Mint really doesn't care as they're still making record sales for SML's- 6.4m sold in just Q2 this year. Some Philharmonics, Ferns and Lunar coins also get the milk spots.

No interest in this new coin only for the fact that it'll develop milkspots. Shame as it's all pretty and stuff

Disgusting!

But Kookaburras and Pandas are so clean!

Dirty ones I encountered included: Philharmonics, Suriname 10 Dollars.

Nice coin, but I am more interested in where you are getting your regular maples for $23!

Here's one that sells VAT-free silver (based in Germany):
http://silber.celticgold.eu/nl_en/buy-silver/maple-leaf-1-oz-silver-2013.html

Sells in EUR, but the price calculated in USD now is 23.75 $/Maple Leaf.

Normally the EU taxes silver heavily, but CelticGold sells through Estonia - who doesn't tax silver (but the EU is forcing it to).

Further details about this seller on my site:

haha ok cheers. Shipping to Aus would kill it, but amazing these coins sell so close to spot in other parts of the world.

These are definitely a big hit here in Canada. Been flying off my website at $25 a piece haha. They don't even come in for another 1-2 weeks.

Im in sell mode but I think I might pick up a few of these! IMO they will double in price in the next year if spot stays the same.

Except for that "25", they could have given it a more stylish, unique design.

It's so pure, .9999, but has that flat same old design...
