The US should have had a deal with the Axis powers in WWII. Germany keeps Europe and Russia while Japan keeps North Asia. The world would be a better place today.
That sounds like a global fascist dictatorship. I am sure that you are joking and there are many things that I'd note about this:
1 -
Germany wouldn't have been able to conquer the entire Russia, but if the US would not have gotten involved, then Germany could have ruled the entire Europe EXCEPT the Soviet/Russian part
2 -
the problem with Germany and Russia was the brutal nazi & communist system, reason why they could not have survived for the longer term (they were both essentially criminal regimes... as many others), they were just as evil as the Taliban today
3 -
the reason for WW II was WW I: back then (in WW I) the US should not have gotten involved in Europe, but because they did, they stayed and became a global power (like Microsoft's monopoly with Windows or Google's with Google Search), so it was WW I that made the US into a global power (against which Germany and Japan tried to resist, but without success)
4 -
the reason for the Cold War was that the West (especially the UK, USA) simply handed over Eastern Europe and Central Europe to the Soviets: although, most of these countries were the victims of Nazi Germany, the West simply sold them off to Stalin's sphere of influence (instead of saving them), thus they became the victims of Soviet oppression (these countries were later labeled as "Communist Block" or "Eastern Block", "Former Communist" etc.)
5 -
the West helped create communism in Central and Eastern Europe (madness, but it is a fact)
6 -
the USA, UK and France are still making sure they keep Russia and Germany weak
