ZH is Russian propaganda. I still read it, but only for fun as if you really believe in it, you will lose money.
The Ruskies know how to make themself seem "loveable", because they were so far from that for over a century before the end of the "cold war".
They pump their self-referential foamy marketing like McDonald's pumps fake food, making us believe that it's healthy, let alone that it's even FOOD!
On the other hand, the new Soviet Union is the EU. The US is a declining great power doing just 3 things to keep its face above water:
- divide and conquer: blocking the Eurasian collaboration, keeping Germany from building relations with Russia, hindering China from doing business with the EU and so on and so forth...
- fighting for resources: oil and gas (from Iraq, Libya, Syria to Russia... regardless to explain) - if Iran, Venezuela, Libya had no oil, then the US would treat them like they treat Chad
- the military-industrial complex: make wars to sell military equipment has been the obsession of the US ever since they got involved in WW I and WW II - since then they must be in war, so that they can rotate their economy, otherwise they would collapse - so now the entire world is full of wars created by them and also full of allies who keep buying F-16's and Patriot missiles
It seems like a constantly rotating machine that just can't stop. Normally, there would be a plan for peace and de-escalation.
But like this, it can't happen.
Of course, a world ruled by China would be far more ruthless and dictatorial. And that could be avoided, if the US wouldn't ruin its own reputation and if they wouldn't ruin the world before China finds a reason "to come and save the world". And, that's true for Russia and Turkey as regional powers. None of them are "better".
But the US has been paving the way towards and atomized, chaotic conflict-filled multipolar world.

If the US falls too fast, this would be the outcome. But you're better off if you are Northern Han, followed by Southern Han, and then "ethnic minority chinese", mongolian, korean, and then other asian people.
Russia as a state won't exist if China is a superpower. The "state of Moscow" will still be around. Turkey is too far from China to be threatened.
The funny thing is Ukraine will reappear and become a Chinese ally. The enemy of my enemy is my friend.

Russia has most relevance as a regional power in Eastern and Central Europe, as well as the Middle East, Central Asia. Just a bit in East Asia.
China wants to "take back Siberia" and they can technically swallow 70-80 % of Russia, but the question is if they dare, because Russia can simply nuke China. It is easier for them to do so, since they will be less affected by nuclear fallout and most of China's population lives in the eastern parts. But Russia's big cities are scattered...
By that time Russia will have already joined forces with Europe and the Central Asian countries, who also have goose bumps, when they hear "China".
The US will be the most isolated power if they withdraw from the rest of the world and stop the warmongering.
But they will not, so they will keep the warmongering and the divide and conquer game until they can - oil, gas, wargames, the military-industrial complex keeps them alive.
"When you grab the cat by the tail, keep spinning it, or the cat will bite you". I think the US and the western colonial powers (UK-France... add a few more like Netherlands, Belgium, Canada...) are caught in a rat race in which they must behave like this only in order to survive just a bit more as economic powers.
If they stop the warmongering, they will collapse.
If they stop the resource way and start making electric cars, producing "eco-friendly energy", then they will collapse.
The "bio" and "ecological" and "carbon footprint" are just stamps used as weapons against rivals like China, Brazil, India, Russia and other developing countries.
It is almost impossible for the west to survive without "polluting industries" (which they outsourced to China/India/Bangladesh/Vietnam...etc. and blame them for it...), it is also very stupid to blame nuclear power and shut down nuclear power plants (see Germany, France, Japan... they've shut down a few, Germany plans on shutting all of them down).
The former colonial powers have lost the direction. What they are doing now is an attempt to survive imminent social/economic collapse.
This is like the fall of colonial powers. Just that in the first phase they lost their colonies (well, most of them). Now the cores are imploding.
Nukes don't scare Chinese authoritarians. There are many examples in which Chinese authoritarian governments can sacrifice their own population just to attack the enemy. The most recent is just 2 years ago

Perhaps you do not understand Chinese culture. To the Chinese, the logic is I have more people than you. Even if three quarters or more of my people die, I still have lots of people to continue the fight. But if three quarters of your population die, that's the end of your country because it's impossible to have a land mass so big with only 30 million people. So in a nuclear war, you lose.
And why China has to control Siberia and Central Asia? Historically, for like 3000 years, China has always been invaded from the north, north east and north west by different tribes, mongols, turks, japanese, manchurians and most recently, the russians.
Just as Russia wants Ukraine as a buffer, China wants Mongolia and Siberia as buffer. Now Putin pays tribute to Xi, but the next person might be hostile to China. For a country with very long history, they think for the next 500-1000 years, not 10-20 years like Russians. Vietnam isn't a threat. India is blocked by Tibet and the himalayas. Korea is culturally similar to China, probably considered as related to Chinese or even Chinese. Japan is separated from China by ocean. The US isn't interested in China. So that leaves Russia as the biggest future foe.
What is ironic is that the US isn't actually an enemy of the Chinese people but rather, is an economic and political competitor. This whole SCS game might just be played for Russia to watch and Russia is falling for it from the look of it.

No joke I'm afraid. Russians have a minority of well over 300'000 in Estonia (about 24% of entire population), and Putin has said he will always be ready to "protect Russian citizens and their interests" even when they're residing in countries outside Russia. Smaller ratios but similar situation with other Baltic states.
His speech was chilling.

The entire East Europe and probably even Central Europe is at risk of being conquered by the Russian army. All these protect my own people stories are just excuses that Hilter used many years ago. History is repeating itself again.

The Russians can cut through Eastern Europe like a rusty heavy truck through a crap spot.
Most eastern European countries joined the EU/NATO specifically for protection against the Rusky fat thug bear.
So, tell me, how is "NATO" going to protect these Eastern European countries? We have a joke here for NATO. No action, talk only. So far, I only see talking. If Russia pushes Belarus to invades Poland tomorrow. What is NATO going to do? The only NATO that I see doing anything is the UK. Even that, it's mostly just talk and sending small arms.
What will happen is Russia pushes into Eastern Europe thinking they have Chinese support and money. All this while, China will keep quiet and when Russia is stuck in European wars, China will condemn Russian aggression and move into Siberia. Russia cannot fight opposite ends at the same time and will be defeated easily. China becomes the new America, the hero of the 21st century, gains valuable gas fields, while Russians will be the villain of the 21st century. The best thing is China will gain Taiwan without fighting a war and probably don't even need to fight the Russia as the Russian army in the Far East will surrender without fighting China.
