For me this has just set a new standard for ultra high relief coins.

its not merchantable at any bank so its a medal.

A large number of commemorative non circulating collectors coins are also issued by the Cook Islands featuring an almost endless array of themes as the government has a contract in which a coin design can be commissioned and minted with the name "Cook Islands" and dollar units for a fee, making coinage a resource for extra revenue. Due to exchange schemes involving large stocks of non-circulating commemorative coins, mintages are regulated and not recognized or accepted as legal tender within the Cook Islands

There is also a very nice video:

Great design...beautiful craftsmanship! The 4-layer minting technology makes it look like a domed coin from the reverse side.

Is this a first of a series or is it part of a series that's been out?

.

It is not just domed shaped looking - it is a real domed shaped coin on one side

Yes, it starts a new series

Have seen the coin in Berlin @ World Money Fair, a great one

Thank you for info MDAMDA!
So the coin details and depth are so high like they appears in pictures? For me this coin is stunning!
Do you have any info on what other coins will come in this series?
Alex.

Really love the details on this coin

Its not a legal tender coin, could this coin perform years later?

It is legal tender from Cook Islands. This is the picture of the obverse:

It looks impressive in hand as well - same as the picture - very plastic due to the domed shaped reverse

I have heard some ideas of further coins in series nothing comfirmed but ideas are great

How many temple of heaven out there? Or only one in Beijing?

I never heard of this temple but Google reveal this:

The coin looks nice but it seems to be different compare to the actual temple.

For those who are like me... Never heard of Temple of Heaven, the obverse of all Panda bullion... That's the exact same temple.

Only one heaven of temple in beijing.

The coin did have good high relief effect in video but need to look at the real coin to conclude my comment.

The details and art effect are totally out as comparing to the real temple of heaven in beijing.
The dragon of the coin at top/middle are like snake in the photo and video.
