The way it looks to me is its not a nz legal tender coin.. I'd like clarification on this as it applies to a growing trend of small nations with these types of offerings

The obverse used here looks just like the one used on some coins from Treasures of OZ - though it's not in their product sheet of products coming soon that's on their website.

With GVC selling them @ +1.59 /oz, is it possible that expectations were set too high?

Selling these at borderline generic prices, I wouldn't expect very high quality.
 
Anyone confirmed what Mint is making them? Very disappointed with the actual coin. If people felt the Crocs weren't great, these Tunas make them look like MS70's !
 
Wouldn't waste my money on anything tokelau anymore.

The Tokelau coins I've bought have easily developed milkspots/toning even when I put them in air-tites.

I'm guessing this coin will be no different, especially since it is sold as a generic round.

Yes, this coin is being minted by a private mint, who has authorization to use Tokelau as legal tender. At $1.59 over spot from Gainseville, I still think this is a great product since some people pay that much for generic rounds and bars.

This on the other hand is a limited product which will be a series...

Once spot drops, I'll definitely be buying some.
 
I just checked Gainsville's website and didn't it say they were minted by New Zealand mint, or did I just see things?

Either way, it's gone now and I feel totally ripped off! Don't get me wrong.. I'm not upset or about to go sue the company but that is very misleading. The picture they show is incredible and they sure hype it up with great adjectives. "..reverse features an incredibly realistic and detailed colorized depiction of the Kakahi-Yellowfin Tuna." YEAH RIGHT! Last time I purchase from them! Or at least coins bearing Tokelau.

Anyway, is there anyone else hoping somehow the eBay picture is wrong? Oh well.. silver is silver...

They incorrectly labelled it as a NZ Mint product, I had contacted my contact at NZ Mint to see if I can order them, but I received a reply back saying It was an error on Gainsvilles part and they had been contacted to fix it.
