I don't believe this. Why would they chane the series half way through and start with square coins?

The lunar horse is going to be round. And will depict 2 horses.

But doesn't actually confirm the shape of the coin. I started a new thread to see if any of the dealers or anyone with credible information direct from Perth Mint knows for sure the shape of this coin.

If you read the Currency Determination you just might understand.

Also...review Perth's Precious Metal Programme.

"Subsection 13A(1) of the Currency Act 1965 requires that the determination provide details of coin characteristics including standard composition, standard weight, allowable variation from standard weight, design and dimensions "

But it doesn't specify the dimensions of the coin. Anyway, it doesn't matter as goldpelican confirmed that the coin is round.

The Perth Mint Determinations provide the dimensions for Square coins and Circular coins.

Perhaps you don't understand how to read dimensions.

Click on the Text tab on the Determination.
http://www.comlaw.gov.au/Details/F2013L00065

Re-read the Dimensions!

Maximum diameter or other dimension (mm)

Maximum thickness (mm)

Now go to the Determination for the Square Bullion Coins.
http://www.comlaw.gov.au/Details/F2013L00661

Click on the tab for Text

Now read the dimensions for the square coins.

Apologies Holdfast, I didn't realise this information was located within another tab. Was my first time using that site. Thanks for pointing me in the correct dimension. :)

Btw
Sidetrack the topic a bit

Chinese horoscope says that people who were born in snake year will gain massively in this horse year.
Lets be optimistics :)
