2009 is my favorite year too :p

I wonder how much the mintage of the 2012 will be, over 10 million?

Definitely over 9000

2009 is win. I bought a Gold/Silver 2009 set hahaha... it's so hot.

Looks like this was covered before by our in house panda expert:

No it wasn't yennus, or petercamperdown, or mrslick or you. It was me.

You're embarrassing me fish.

6 million. Still much lower than Eagles, Maples & Philharmonics. Makes Kook, Koala and Britannia more precious.

Higher Panda Mintage can work for collectors and speculators/investors alike. It allows more new people (me) to own newer releases and only fuels the demand of past releases held by investors for new collections.

There is a limit though, I mean if there's enough for every single soul that wants one, then it loses it's collectable factor. I love their beauty and craftsmanship, but I DO want them to appreciate as well.

That is true, contrary to some theories, supply can create demand. Matrix knows about this with his game.

Koala has no limit.

Oh Koala has no limit? Is it for current year or previous years too?

Current year no limits. In 2009, the 2009 Koala has no limit. In 2010, the 2010 Koala has no limit etc

They stop making that year's Koala after that year though.

Thanks for the link. Wow! Perth pumps out the volume, much like the Eagles and Leafs. I would have thought the Silver Lunars would have a lower mintage. Now I remember why I like (RAM) Roos, along with Pandas and Canadian Wildlife. I collect them mainly because I like the coins, but lower mintage is nice too.
