Hi stackers, wondering if anyone can help me with info on this coin, I have all the other carded roos except 2013 2014 & 2007.

There appears to be 2 different kinds of carded roos for 2007, which one is the genuine one to finish the set? Or do I need to get both and what price point should I be looking at for the 2013 2014 & 2007 roos.

Cheers BM

I think from memory the 2007 came out in silver and the Cu/Ni. Ill need to check the memory though. Both were carded as recall.

The 2007 roo only came from the RAM in the usual screw capsule (RAM were considering dumping the annual silver roo at the time and weren't too fussed about making it attractive).

IIRC, there were two dealers who printed their own cards, attached the coin to them with the capsule and put some kind of wrapping on the whole thing.

There is no "official" card for that year, only aftermarket cards.

the blue 2007 1 oz silver kangaroo is the easiest one to find released by downies, the other 2007 roo came in a brownish card which

was released by global promotions , needless to say this is the hard one to get

price would be $ 300 - $ 400

If you really like the roos you need both, the global promotion and the downies

GP carded one

Nearly unavailable on the market

Funny story..... In April of 2012 all I needed to finish my RAM Kangaroo series was both carded 2007 versions. I got tired of waiting and purchased a blue carded one from APMEX and what arrived was the gold carded version. Needless to say, I kept this one and eventually purchased the blue card version from EBay a month or two later.

I never get lucky like that.....

Great score crutch, does apmex still sell the carded roos?

Cheers

They come up on ebay pretty often. Last 2 auctions on ebay $220 and $170 end price for the blue card. Buy it Now price around $400 though they may accept a lesser bid.

slowly find it on eBay, it took a while for me to get three of the 2007 roos, capsule + GP brown card + blue card

:) happy searching

Been looking for the red Global promotions 2007 carded kangaroo for 5 months now.
The turtle headed things used to be around everywhere, this is seriously doing my head in....

Any assistance in locating one for sale would be appreciated.

Well this is a bit interesting. Is there a third variant of the 2007 1oz silver UNC kangaroo w/custom packaging? Or has someone just slapped something together?

This sold for $199 + post on eBay just now:

It is clearly a different card from the other two known releases, shown earlier in this thread.

What I find disconcerting is:
(a) the listing shows the coin OUT of it's capsule for photos, and
(b) the seller didn't respond to a request to see the other side of the card.

Thoughts people?

Someone has either scored a newly-discovered third (and rare!) 2007 packaging, or they've paid overs for a banged-up kanga.

Its no problem to remove the coin out of the card, so maybe this card is from a pre 2000 coin but i also have never seen this card - strange

I think it's alright, the seller has an established store in Sydney CBD, and quite a few of his ~1000 current listings are like that
