1oz PROOF Year of the OX in stock

There is no real way that I know of besides checking each day the 1oz Silver mouse isn't even listed on the website anymore so not sure what is happening with that whether they are getting it ready to sell again or it is just gone

According to the PM, as of May 2011 the mintage numbers are as follows;

2009 1oz Proof Ox - 2147/5000

2009 Three-Coin Set Proof Ox - 340/1000

2009 1kg Proof Ox - 143/500

Obviously, the sales of the lunar Oxen in 2009 didn't go as well as PM had hoped for (less than 50% of the total mintage numbers for each coin was sold!)... so i guess its now time to cash in on the lunar fever ;)

I see Perth Mint has around 70 of these in stock.

I was pretty sure I had seen them being "SOLD OUT" before so not sure if this is a glitch or if they really do have them in stock.

I just ordered 2 anyways.

You know I like to give heads up where I can - 1oz Silver Proof Ox, go online and secure yours while you can :)

Dumb question, how to check the amount in stock from PM website?

type in 9999, click add to cart.. it won;t let you add more than they have remaining in stock..
similar for APMEX.. type in 9999 ... it'll tell you how many they have in stock..

hope that helps..
:D
Thanks, I think I can use same method on most of the websites.:D

Another 30 available on the perth mint site now. What are they doing getting us excited that they sold out and then just keep bringing them out.
Oh well good for those who want one

Well, they have another 2700+ to sell.
In my opinion they will eventually ruin the secondary market and kill off demand.

Instead of reminting old coins they should focus on their core business and make the 2oz and (0.)5oz dragon coins available again!

PM doesn't give a hoot about the secondary market. With silver prices down compared to earlier this year and with the lunar rage going on... its all about profit maximization & its the best time to milk this demand. While at it, I reckon they might as well start reproduction of the 2008 lunar mouse since the sales figures are similar to the oxen :cool:

According to the PM, as of May 2011 the mintage numbers for the lunar rat are as follows;

2008 1oz Proof Mouse - 3024 / 5000

2008 Three-Coin Set Proof Mouse - 365/1000

2008 1kg Proof Mouse - 137/500

Well, funny you should say that.. PM site has no listing for the proof mouse anymore, maybe getting ready to re-mint a few?

That's right. What I'm saying is that it is a stupid decision in the long term. If prices for lunar coins stay down, less people are going to buy them because there is less profit to be made. They can only sell 5000 or however many because lots of people are stacking up, not because there are 5000 people buying them. If people don't stack up anymore, they will sell a lot less of their coins.

I've only recently got into stacking silver.
Wouldn't mind if they started re-minting more mice.

I just got the 1oz Ox Silver Proof and Ox Typeset when it became available again.
