1oz Coin Display/Box/Storage

Hi All,

I know the question has been asked before, but the threads I've found are old so I wanted to see what the current options are

I'm looking at getting a nice box/boxes to store each of my Kooks and Koala's

More so, I'm looking for something in Australia. I've seen the White Kook box that hold 40 coins and a few others, but they're all overseas and with postage would just cost too much

I've found this site https://www.fortunacollectibles.com.au and they seem to be based in Sydney

I like the look of the Kook and Koala box they do, but you'd need 2 Kook boxes as they only hold 20, so 2 Kook boxes and 1 Koala box is $210 + postage, which again seems excessive

Does anyone know of any other options for boxes similar to this in Australia? Or overseas that won't cost a heap in postage?

I see perth mint has one for lunars but not sure if they do one for kooks and koalas, I want some cases too once I finish collecting them

Yeah I already got that Lunar case for my Lunar set :)

Now looking for a nice case to house my Kooks and Koala's

Am hoping some other forum members can chime in here with any suggestions?

Worst case scenario I fork out for those black boxes posted above, but am hoping someone else might have other alternatives

I have a wooden box available for differrent coins series like Koalas, Kooks and Lunar silver and gold coins.
The advantage of some of the boxes like the one for the Koalas is that it can hold up to 60 1oz coins in up to three trays.
Or you can store a combination of 1oz, 10oz or 1 kilo silver coins. My (older) version of the box holds up to 20 1oz and
20 1/2oz koala coins. Because it is possible to take out the trays i can vacuum seal each tray. Here the pic of my box
and a link to the manufacturer:https://www.meinemuenzbox.de/starts...-oz-1-kilo-silber-1/#cc-m-product-12105399227

Thanks for that info mate

I've checked out that site, and with what I would want and shipping costs I'm best to just grab a few of the ones I posted in the OP, which I will look to do soon

I'm just looking to display my 1oz Kooks, Koala's and Lunar's in their own separate display boxes, so the multi tray boxes aren't what I'm after

Cheers :)

You are welcome.
The do also distribute their boxes by coin dealers, maybe also by one in Australia.
Just ask them via email: [email protected] or via web contact here: https://www.meinemuenzbox.de/kontakt/
The reply will come soon. :)

For any interested, mention that you're a member of Silver Stackers and ask for a discount, his username is Coinbox.

Edit to add: and he's got good english, probably better than renovator's.

Looks like they have a new treasure box that can hold up to 4 trays of 1oz x 20 coins

https://www.meinemuenzbox.de/startseite/schatztruhe/

What are peoples thoughts on that? Would be a lot cheaper to store my Kooks and Koala's together in this box

Or do I just pay up and get the Kook and Koala specific boxes?

I would prefer the specific Kooka and Koala boxes because they have a much more decent look like.
By the way: With the new designed specific Kooka and Koala boxes you have the free choice to select up to three
trays for 20 1oz coins, in total 60 1oz coins.
Compare the pics and decide yourself.

Thanks for all your help mate

I actually contacted them via the forum (Thanks shiney!) and I was speaking with them via email for most of yesterday

They were great to deal with, and I just ordered one of the Kook wooden boxes with 2 trays and 1 of the Koala boxes with 2 trays

Even with postage it was cheaper than the original ones I posted in the OP, and these are much better quality

Looking forward to them arriving

Thanks again!

Oh, Up until now I have kept the coins in Air-Tite tubes.

Is it worth vac sealing them in the box like you have? I'd prefer not to - they shouldn't deteriorate in the box should they?
