1998 Gold Panda 5 coin set. Should I send for grading?

Hello,

First a Happy Father's to all of you out there. I just got back from my local flea market and purchased a complete 5 coin set of the 1998 Gold Panda series. :D (Pics coming up later tonight)Paid $3425 cash. Trusted dealer , he already checked for weight and diameter. There are no scratches or dings to be found. 3 coins have some copper/red spotting but nothing else stands out. The 1oz is a large date variety.

Was checking online with PCGS and NGC. Never submitted a coin for grading before and see that you have to pay for membership before even being able to submit for grading. Was between the Premium NGC for $129 or the $199 level with PCGS.

Would appreciate any thoughts on the best route to go with this set. If I send for grading I think they should all come out at least MS67 or better.

Get the cheapest membership option from NGC. Then send to NCS for conservation, and they will then pass it onto NGC for grading.

Thank you both. So happy now that I decided to stay up this morning and call the coin shop at the market. Made a quick trip to the bank and took care of business. They even kept it in the safe for me till I was done walking rest of the market and was ready to leave. Went straight home after that and made sure I wasn't followed at all. Haha, always good to be cautious.
 
That has to be the buy of the year, where on earth do you go to a flea market and find a set of '98 gold Pandas?! Then pay under 4k for it... I'd rather not see the pics if you don't mind :P

That's just plain wrong.

If I were you I'd only send for grading if you think they'll do well. But really they'd have to be pretty rough not to get them graded, as most know even 68's of that year are very expensive.

I thought it was a great price and thought even with a few copper spots that shouldn't hurt the value too much. Going to go get them out of the safe now and take some pics.

If you decide send to grading. I think ncs will erase the red copper spots (i try with my 1/10 coin with green residue and became a shinny 68)
