1996 Lunar Rat 5oz Silver Help?

Hello

I would like some advice regarding the 1996 5oz Lunar rat coin.
I'm in New Zealand and can buy one for a very reasonable price around spot +50%.

The coin just say 5oz and not 50 Yuan as some of the other coins say.
The seller is a well known respectable coin dealer and I won't think he's in for a runner if it's not Silver and believe he would have checked for it.

Do anyone know why some say 5oz and some say 50 Yuan?
There's counterfeit coins like these on Ebay and other Chinese wholesale websites.

Is there any info or a link to a website with info regarding this coin or this series?

The mintage of this coin was only 1004............who will sell it just 50% over spot?

Unless it was counterfeit coins (99.95% sure).
 
Spot plus 50%? Either it is a really beat up coin or a really good counterfeit. :)

i pay 200% spot u sell to mehaha

currently price is over 2000 aud

chinese coins never as spot plus percentage
even new panda already more than 50% spot

I bought the coin and will get it tested for silver.
In New Zealand or a lot of smaller countries the collectors value of coins are a lot lower than on Ebay.

A lot of the sellers work just on the silver price and a premium.
For example I bought 10x 2011 Pandas for around $2 USD more than for a 2015 Panda.
2014 Pandas and 2015 Pandas are available for the same price.

Here's a few Chinese coins like old Pandas from the 90's etc at a premium price of let say $80 USD.
I believe the reason is that a lot of Chinese nationals come to NZ to retire and live, normally the well off people.

I suppose it's one benefit to be in a smaller country but for selling you need to sell it on ebay and charge $7USD postage if you want it tracked so that makes up for the lower prices.
 
Just to give an update I received the 5oz rat and is convince it's counterfeit.
The magnet test don't work it shoots away.
I also did a Silver acid test and the interesting was that there was like no reaction at all.

The acid is yellow and turn red when it's in contact with silver it also turns red on plated silver for the first test with the second test at the same place on plated items it just stay yellow.
On this item it just stayed yellow it might have been chromed or something like that.

It was a great seller and I quickly received my refund, this can happen with anyone.
