Hi Stackers, I have just started collecting 2oz kooks. Hoping someone can help out- I am confused by the 1992 & 1993 images.
The 1992 and 1993 have the same design and it is the same design as the 1oz 1990 kook???
However the 1994 and 1995 kooks I have are the same design as that years 1oz 94 & 95 kook WTF???
The coins are all bullion - I hope this makes sense- I am confused!!!
 
I think you;ll find you have a proof version and a non proof version. Do a quick goolge image search under proof 2oz kooks and you should be able to match up what you've got.
(i'm collecting the 2oz too, its a slow process but at least therse no remints,,,,,,,, yet :lol:
 
92 & 93 bullion 2oz kook have the same design.
Apparently there might be one for 91 bullion 2oz too with the same design.
 
According to perth mint 1992 was the first 2oz bullion coin released. So I suppose that is why it has the 1990 bullion image.
I have the 92 bullion 2oz kook and have googled 93 kook to find the identical image for the bullion version.
However the image changes in 1994 to match the current 1oz , 10 oz and 1kilo images - I have the set.
So I assume there are no 2oz kooks with 91-93 bullion images???
Still confused!!!

Can't confirm the 91 2oz bullion, as i still haven't found one. But a number of people has mentioned it before.

Not according to the McDonald guide either
First bullion 2oz was 1992

KJC has images of a proof 1991 2oz and a bullion 1993 2oz. Same design. Looks like they are available for sale along with a bunch of others.
 
I was referring to the 91 2oz bullion finish.
No reference found, but have heard some people mentioned the existence. Could be fib :/

Oops. My bad. Sorry. Haven't seen a '91 bullion either.
 
This is quite amazing when I got to see all the 1993 2oz Silver Kookaburra, 1992 2oz Silver Kookaburra and 1990 1oz Silver Kookaburra featuring the same kookaburra perched on a tree. Then, how do we differentiate among these? But as Anonmiss refers: it must be related to proof version and non proof version.

What is the difference in the proof v's non proof?

Also what's to difference in the square capsules v's round?

Proof = highly polished die = mirror finish. Usually sells for more premium due to packaging and lower mintage.
The easiest way to tell PM proof is from the observe. If Liz is frosted and every where else is mirror finish, then it's proof.

Prior to 1999 bullion coins came in square capsules.
