Just wondering any you guys know what's it worth 2014 pocket guide list na .unopend mint roll 1983 20c cheers
yeh I am going to disagree with you on that, mint rolls go for less than the combined individual valueAg-man said:Around $500 for twenty x $0.20, (1983's) individually.
So my guess is that an unopened mint roll should be worth more.
Buzz the 5Kg bar if its for sale.

I just looked in my coin box. I have 20c coins from 1966, 1967, 1968, 1971, 1973, 1974, 1976, 1977, 1979, 1980, 1981, 1982....
Why are they only worth 20c each?
What's so special about 1983?

serial said:the 1983 and 83 had mintages of 55,110,000 and 27,820,000 however the Royal Aust Mint realised that they didn't really need that many 20c coins in the population at the time and decided to only release a uknown and limited quantity at the time. the rest they melted down and used for other coins. as such they are harder to obtain than other years and get a premium for it. a quick search on ebay shows that a PCGS graded Ms 64 will only get you $30. you will get even less for an ungraded one and rolls of coins generally speaking sell for less than the combined value of the individual coins hence my retail value of around $300.

however this is more than 10x the value of say a 1977,78,79,81, etc roll hence my statement that he will get a lot for them.
like I said I am interested in buying them if he wants to sell them
essentially yeh, but it also has to have some appeal. for instance NZ coins have some seriously low mintages. I personally have a NZ 1935 3 pence in AU condition with a mintage of only 40,000 and I would be lucky to get $300 for it.Shamatti said:serial said:the 1983 and 83 had mintages of 55,110,000 and 27,820,000 however the Royal Aust Mint realised that they didn't really need that many 20c coins in the population at the time and decided to only release a uknown and limited quantity at the time. the rest they melted down and used for other coins. as such they are harder to obtain than other years and get a premium for it. a quick search on ebay shows that a PCGS graded Ms 64 will only get you $30. you will get even less for an ungraded one and rolls of coins generally speaking sell for less than the combined value of the individual coins hence my retail value of around $300.

Fascinating.
So people/you are interesting in any coin, so long as it is rare or hard to find?
What publications should I read to learn about this stuff? What to look out for etc?
I am always coming across odd coins in odd places lol. Would be nice to know what is worth hanging on to.![]()

I would have thought that you would receive a premium for being unopened /original packaging etc.
Cheers
