They don't look in great shape. The 1911 is perhaps a little better than the 1925 coin. Total weight approx 7.98 gms of 22k i.e. 7.315 gms of 24k or .2352 ozt. At today's gold prices about US $ 255-260???!!! On an eBay auction he would probably achieve about US$ 280-290 net after their charges (including PayPal) and would have to wait a while for them to credit his money.

It's your call......

Thanks guys, i had bought it for 287usd, i know it is pricey for this condition, i am new with sovereigns and still trying to know it better. now I'm reading a lot regarding these coins, perhaps, this could be an opening eye. i am planning to acquire more and i will be very careful next time. Its weight and dimensions are ok. My friend is moving all his coins and changing it with different type of gold collection, thanks for both of you.

I consider sovereigns are just bullion.
Condition not relevant.
Rare ones are for collectors, not stackers.
Good size,Well known, cheap and very tradable.
A worn one has just about as much gold as a new one.

Nice idea re-sovereigns, i will keep it in mind in buying sovereigns next time.
Really difficult to acquire in my locality, i used to join local auctions in various coin and antique clubs but sovereigns still offered very high.
Still depending in my overseas travel and some local seller in town which i can safe-easily pick up.
Thank you Peter:)
