You guys may remember me talking about the pyramid the other day, I picked one of these up at the same time, the pyramid is ... less interesting than guessed at in person, this however is really quite attractive, the pics don't really do it justice.

its gorgeous!!!...i have an old perth mint 10oz flat bar......same thing ...pour rings.....looks jst amazing..!!!...let me know if you ever want to part with that baby!!......the odd-ball bars have such personality...!!!!hahaha

Yeah apparently the ripple is caused by their pouring technique, I believe they hand pour them all

to be contrarian i would think it is robo-poured judging by some of the "frankenteiner" bars i have that look like hand poured collapsed souffle's

Bit nicer than the oddball 3oz bars they make!

Yeah, I reckon they must be pouring at temps not much above melting to get the ripple effect.

It actually reminds me of lava flow when you look at it...

yeah great clips . so it takes around 4 to 5 mins just to stamp 1 thats interesting in itself i thought it would be 1 stamp & a large press bam !!! 5 seconds

That would be fine if the top was nice and flat like the bottom of the bar. As it is, the top of the bar is concave, and I doubt 2 bars would have the same shockwave pattern. A single stamp would just cause issues.

a pivot on the stamp or stamps heads to allow for concave - convex surfaces would work on adjustable slots for different size bars

Which you don't sell anymore! (*shakes fist*)

You know mate... there's a LOT more stackers around here nowadays. Sure you've not considered a comeback? ;)

That'a a nice looking bar! Nice vids too, btw so thanks for putting those up.

Where do they sell these?

I went to their website and it appears they have suspended production temporarily while they upgrade their equipment.

Out of interest, how do they make sure the bar weighs the correct amount? Weigh the raw stock before melting? Weigh the crucible?

Huzzah!

I still have those coins you sold/gave to me and I love the buggers!
