Hello all,
Just wondering if anybody knows what this bar is.
Recently purchased, I believe its sterling. Sold to me as sterling
Apart from that I don't know much.
Dimensions around .5cm thick and 4cm x 8cm
Looks like its been used as a pendent as it has a hole near the dragon.

Thanks guys,
I guess thats my first (I hope) dodgy bar.
Will take it to get XRF'ed to confirm makeup asap,
It was bought as part of a package.

Looks like it was a dodgy one.. 95% Zinc :(

At the moment I believe that it was unknown to be a fake by the seller so at this stage I shouldn't be out of pocket.

Timely warning that you need to be careful when buying PM's

It's what's known as 'Tibetan Silver' - loads of fake stuff coming out of China is made of this - and it's pretty easy to spot if you have an experienced eye. The metal tends to be more matt, and a dull grey, more battleship grey than light silver.

Glad to hear you're not out of pocket.

The design is seriously kitsch with the yin-yang and the zodiac animals.

The characters around the zodiac animals circle are NOT the names of the animals; they are the 'hours' of the day in an archaic 12-hours-a-day calendar system.

None of the inscriptions mentions silver or purity. So the only 'crime' committed by the makers is an offense against good taste.
