HI Panda Collectors,

Please help me and my dealer determine a price for this coin

1995 1/20oz Platinum Panda Raw (unsealed)

What is the current value of this coin?

I have not been able to locate many sales.

I would take a stab at the grade being MS66-MS67 because of some slight discoloration.

Just had a quick look in the pricapedia.
Given the low grade I would think somewhere between $510 and $550
Ask price in US is something like $1450, ask in china is $771, MS69 $979
Three sales in china 12/12
$560
$411
$373
Hope this helps,
Given you think it will grade MS66 I would look to get a better coin.

thanks Chillidog!

The main reason I am considering buying this coin is I think I can get it for $150-$250-

I have a local network of dealers who call me when they get any Chinese coins. If they are silver or gold Pandas I know the market well from watching ebay, auctions, forums. As for the Platinum and Pallidium Pandas they are a bit tricky to find as many coins on the market so pricing is tough.

I really appreciate your help.

Iam just taking a stab at the grade since I know its not a MS69 or MS70 and I would rather be conservative if I am buying a coin.

It very well could be MS67.

Update on this coin...I bought the coin from The Dealer who holds and sells me all his Chinese coins.

I paid $ 125-

The coin looks flawless except for a tiny mark on the inside of the rim which is not a ding but more like a speck.

This coin will probably Grade MS67 or MS68.

IF I am looking at a value of $550- this might be my best buy for the year of 2014!

Always get a better grade with conservation--helluva deal

I appreciate that Justfishing..it means more coming from you since i know you are a serious Panda enthusiast.

I was curious about the conservation on a Platinum coin if it is worth it or not. I sent in Silver Pandas before and did not conserve and I later regret not conserving since Silver Tarnishes it brings out the luster if conserved.

I wonder how NCS conserves coins. I bet they just sit there with a bucket of coin dip and dip the coin.

I just don't understand another way to "conserve" a coin without damaging it unless they are dipping in solutions.

anyone know?

Also should I definitely slab this or sell it raw?

pm me if you are selling ,I am collecting:)

thanks Jc88888888

I would love to liquidate it to buy more Pandas but something in my gut is telling me to hold onto it.

It is the only Platinum coin I own and the only Plat Panda of coarse so I keep that coin close to the vest.

Congrats but it's still 2013.
Am I missing something?

Yeah I made a mistake...2013 best buy.

Well I did buy a few 1994 Silver 10 Yuan Pandas for $110/each

let me know if that is a good buy Panda collectors?

I only have one other 1994 and I sold it for $200 so I basically turned 1 1994 Panda into 2 94 Pandas.
