i was so excited about this coin coming out, saw the design and its turned me off, the old locket series design was much better.. prediction for the series is luke warm at best, i think it will be a downright bust.

ronny is definatly right , i thought as soon as i saw this series that its too early to tell if its a winner or not, its unique and an alright design but i think its really going to depend on the second coin of the set.. but theres some interesting coins in this set : unicorn, phoenix, wherewolf...

i dont think there can be any better advice, im sure most of us can look back and wish we started with more patience, some things can only be learned with time..

im having trouble understanding this, are the 1oz kookaburras and koalas from previous years going to be minted again? or are the mintage numbers for the 1oz one the perth mint site the only number that will ever be made? is it possible for past 1oz koalas to be minted again? ill be laying off...

isnt the perth mint completing the 300k mintages on all the earlier kooks? if this is the case i think it will push up the value of the first kooks, and push down the value of all the other kooks upto the 2010

yeah the mint makes listing mistakes every once in a while, when the first "birds of australia" coin came out a few months back it was listed as 1oz, but the mints usually very good about these things, but who doesnt goto the spec page for every coin theyre going to buy anyways?

its a collector coin period, it is what it is, buy it or dont, its not bullion that much is clear, purely a numismatic/historical piece.. i dont really know about the history of this coin, i think its more of an aussie piece looks interesting though, i wont be a buyer but it looks better than...

at the premium you pay for maples , milk spot dont really matter, the wildlife series on the other hand...
